John's walking the GR10 route, from Hendaye on the French Atlantic coast, across the Pyrenean mountain range, to Banyuls-sur-mer on the Mediterranean coast. This is a hike of 1000km, and includes a total climb equivalent to five times the height of Mount Everest. Apart from satisfying his own personal itch to achieve this, he's doing this to raise funds for the Guy's and St Thomas' Kidney Patient Association.
